My Strange Halloween

Monday, November 02, 2009 - 12:00 AM

If you've been following my Twitter feed, you know that I decided two Saturdays ago that I wanted to make a Dr. Strange costume for Halloween.

Sure, I could have stayed with last year's Dr. Octopus costume, but I was feeling like I wanted a challenge.

So I got some fabric, fabric glue, iron-on hem sealer, and a few other materials and began building my Dr. Strange outfit.

My older son was Wolverine and my younger son was... well, originally he was Darth Vader, then he was Princess Leia, and, five minutes before leaving to go trick-or-treating, he wound up in last year's tattered Spider-Man outfit.

We hosted a party of about nine kids under eight years old and their parents, and we had a wonderful time.

Great costume! So many times I've wished I could pull off a super other than maybe "The Blob" :p

Thanks for the Kang joke in Monday's comic! Between this and the latest GotG, he's getting the love!

Indeed a great costume, I've never had the opportunity or inclination to make my own, so always impressed by the lengths people go to.

Nice job Brad. Now you just have to figure out how to store it.

Pretty sweet Dr. Strange costume. Last time I dressed up, I went as Steve (from Blues Clues) while my youngest was Blue.

Don't quite get Monday's comic; E-man changes into the shape of Kang, but what does that have to do with a man who takes his time? Unless he was the Time Czar from last week's Sluggy Freelance, then it makes a little sense....

@ThatJeff, Kang is a time traveler, so that's where I saw a connection.

Love the costume! The cape is epic.

The costume came out great! That is not an easy cloak to pull off, but you did it really well!

Now I know us geeks all know who Doctor Strange is, how many people out and about got it?

Right. Forgot all about that. I just remember him being a elitist jerk fighting the Avengers.

And yes, it's the cape that pulls it off.
